LM&M RAILROAD DATE NIGHT

The second Friday of each month, the LM&M Railroad hosts a date night train ride from Lebanon to Mason, stopping for dinner at Brazenhead Irish Pub along the way. The historic route takes place on 16 miles of track through Lebanon, Mason, and Monroe that has been in use by railroads since 1881. The line was originally used as passenger rail to transport commuters from Warren County to Cincinnati, Dayton, Blue Ash, and Norwood.

The locomotive is one of the oldest still in operation, dating back to 1947. Guests ride along in four Art Deco-style coach cars made in 1930 by the Pullman Company, as well as an open-air car from 1934. An hour-long scenic ride is highlighted by the conductors dressed in period attire punching tickets and talking with guests about the history of the railroad.

The open-air car is completely open to the outdoors.
Passing an old caboose on the side of the track.

A buffet dinner is included in the ticket price, and served up a variety of savory foods. Known for their Irish cuisine, Brazenhead's Shephard's Pie was one of the best I've ever tasted, with the right potato-to-beef ratio. They also had fantastic BBQ Pulled Pork, complimented by sides of coleslaw, mac cheese, plus sauteed zucchini and squash.

One of the most unique, kitschy outings for a Friday night, the LM&M Railroad Date Night is sure to delight you and your adventure-loving significant other.
